Winning Writers mention for me

By Kay Elizabeth • Jul 6th, 2008 • Category: Uncategorized

Unfortunately I missed this when it came out before but Winning Writers congratulated me on my Feedback magazine win way back in the Feb 2007 newsletter. I can’t believe I didn’t see it because I read it faithfully!
I can only assume the newsletter got swallowed up in cyberspace. Typical! Anyway, here’s what they said:

Congratulations to [...]

Why sparks fly on July 4

By Kay • Jul 4th, 2008 • Category: Uncategorized

Ever wondered why fireworks are used to celebrate Independence Day? I did. It’s a nod to the muskets that were fired, bonfires lit and shouts that rang out in celebration of the Declaration’s first readings in public.
Surprisingly fireworks didn’t become a standard part of the festivities “until after 1816″ says LiveScience, when there was no [...]

The Crystal Butterfly

By Kay Elizabeth • Jul 3rd, 2008 • Category: Uncategorized

This poem was written about something I’d seen in a deep meditative state. It really was beautiful and inspired this piece. I don’t do as good a job of capturing its essence as I’d hoped but I still like the poem.

The Crystal Butterfly
A gentle fluttering behind my lidded eyes
Signals once again the arrival of the [...]

Look ma, no hands!

By Kay • Jul 2nd, 2008 • Category: Uncategorized

On 1 July 2008, hands free legislation regarding cell phones came into effect in California. The new law state that drivers aged 18 or over can only talk on their cell phones if they use a hands-free device. Unless it’s a call for fire, police or medical assistance, you better holster that cellphone.
Anyone under that [...]

Have a good time blogging!

By Kay Elizabeth • Jul 1st, 2008 • Category: Uncategorized

I really enjoy blogging and reading other people’s too. It’s not expensive to host your own blog, you know. I’d encourage everyone, especially creative writers, to get one. It’s a fantastic way to showcase your work and the content is picked up far faster by the search engines than a normal webpage.
Been considering starting one? [...]

Blue Mountain Arts is mainly known as a greetings card publisher. You’ve probably bought one of theirs at some time. Real Estate Online

By admin • Jun 30th, 2008 • Category: E-commerce, Uncategorized

With fuel prices soaring today’s consumer is shopping online more often and doing research about large ticket items before going out to make the purchase. Having your product or services only a mouse click away gives you an advantage over the competition.
Online Real Estate Companies have the ability to reach out and touch prospective buyers [...]

Has the Internet killed the art of conversation?

By Kay Elizabeth • Jun 30th, 2008 • Category: Uncategorized

Long long ago, in the days before the Internet, a mouse was something that made maidens hitch their hooped skirts up and scream. Today that little mechanical wonder is attached to what is arguably the biggest conversation killer of our time. I’m talking about real live face to face conversations here, not chats or IM’s.

I’m [...]
