When building your website you must keep your targeted audience in mind. A beautiful site with all the bells and whistles may look great but if your visitors and daily hits are low then your missing out on some traffic.
Let’s say you have a site designed to sell MP3 files. You know most of your targeted audience will have high speed internet connections therefore a lot if images and video would be ok because your visitor will have a connections fast enough to navigate your site without problems.
But let’s say your in the book selling business. Your targeted audience for this media would be both young and old. Many people still use dial-up connections to access the internet. So here less is best. You can still use images to display your product and advertisement but keep them to a reasonable size and use .jpg or .gif rather than .png. Both a little lower quality but about half the file size which makes for a faster loading website.
Simple fact is your visitors will not wait for a slow loading website nor one that has tons of graphics and music files.

The Megaphone welcomes a new author to our network. Scott Wolford is currently developing his website here on The Megaphone Network in anticipation of the publication of his book “Gino The Minnow”.
Gino The Minnow is a wonderfully illustrated children’s book that will help children of all ages learn the importance of our planet and water supply. With Gino’s help children will discover just how important clean waters are to not only his survival but the survival of all his “fishie” friends.
Gino The Minnow is Scott’s first book to go into publication and is expected to have a release date of mid-2009.
